Pueblo de habla bantú en el centro-oeste de Uganda.

Hasta el s. XVIII el reino Bunyoro abarcaba la actual Uganda. Declinó en los s. XVIII y XIX y cedió su preeminencia al reino de Buganda. Los británicos lo incorporaron al protectorado de Uganda. En la actualidad los nyoro, que suman cerca de 700.000 personas, viven en asentamientos dispersos y cultivan mijo, sorgo y plátanos.
